Scenario

Imagine you are looking to buy a new lamp for your home. Your task is to browse the catalog and find a lamp that suits your taste.

Instructions

  • Browse: Look through the options. You can click on products to see more details.
  • Select: If you find a lamp you would genuinely consider buying, add it to your cart. Please try to narrow your final selection down to the single best lamp that you would actually buy.
  • Finish: When you are done browsing, whether you selected a lamp or decided not to choose one, please click the red "Done? Continue to survey" button. This will take you to a 1-minute survey to complete the session.

Duration

Approx. 3-5 minutes.

What data is collected?

We collect anonymous data from the survey you complete, as well as data regarding your decisions (which products you select) and your interaction patterns within the shop (e.g., product views, interactions with 3D/AR models, and browsing duration). We also collect your device type (e.g., iPhone 13 Pro, Galaxy S25) to understand which devices support AR features.

This anonymous data may be used for academic analysis and publication.

Privacy & Participation

This study is addressed to adults (18 years or older) using a mobile device that is able to support Augmented Reality who have some experience in online shopping. Your participation is anonymous. Your participation is completely voluntary, you can stop anytime by closing the window. There are no known risks associated with this study.

Compensation & Funding

This study offers no financial compensation. This study receives no external funding.

Note: It is perfectly fine to finish with an empty cart if you don't find a lamp you like. These instructions will remain available via the yellow info button in the shop.
